Police appeal for witnesses to robbery at Redditch supermarket

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery that occurred at Allday Stores, in Evesham Road, Redditch at 16.30hours on Saturday 24 August 2019.

The incident occurred when two men came in to the shop wearing masks and carrying a hammer and a knife.  One is described as wearing green camouflage clothing.  They demanded money from the staff, some of whom were shut in a cupboard for a short period of time.

Nothing was stolen during the attempted robbery and the thieves fled empty handed.  It's believed they ran towards Kenilworth Close, towards the recreation ground and the Pleck - the field behind Kenilworth Close.

Noone was injured.  Officers made an immediate search of the area in attempt to locate the suspects

Officers investigating the incident are checking CCTV and appealing for witnesses to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 514S of 24 Augusts 2019. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
